VOGUE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT!

One of my biggest dreams growing up was to be on the cover of VOGUE. Although I was obsessed with the magazine, I was quite young so like any other teenage girl I got my monthly subscription to Teen Vogue. I accumulated so many of them that I started to only keep the ones in which my favorite artist’s graced the covers. YES, I still have them all. Now that I’ve gotten older I am gravitating back towards reading Vogue. I not only love to see all the creative ads for the different brands (especially Chanel), but the articles are so good! I’ve actually started up my own collection of VOGUE’S which so far consist’s of Vogue China, Italia, Paris, Germany & of course the USA. I’m addicted!

When I was little I was so fascinated by the fashion world and everything that came with it aka the glamour. I had a fashion show birthday party, changed my outfit at least five times a day (according to my mom), and I even danced to Madonna’s song “Vogue” while making crazy poses in front of the mirror. Yup! Just like the movies. What can I say, I was a follower. To this day I still find myself so captivated by the fashion world and its constant change. I have to be completely honest and say that before I used to think that you only needed to have a pretty face to make the cover, but it’s way more than that! People may have different opinions about what Vogue means to them, but to me, it’s more than just fashion, style, popularity, and dancing while striking a pose like a model. To me, being VOGUE  is being YOU!

Vogue is taking your flaws and making them your statement piece. Using your creativity and putting together a killer outfit, whether it’s designer or not. Being a strong individual that doesn’t take no for an answer. Walking down the street with a smile and such confidence that doesn’t make other people jealous, but rather inspires them. Doing what you love and using it to change the world. Living your life YOUR WAY and having fun while doing it. Surrounding yourself with people and doing things that encourage you to become a better person. Traveling and seeing the world with an open mind, and letting it consume your innovative side. And finally, VOGUE is being yourself and posing in front of a camera as if you were the cover star. Don’t wait until someone presents you with a moment to make your dreams come true, but instead make them happen yourself. This doesn’t just go to fashion related career’s, but anything you decide to pursue during your lifetime.

Now, whenever I get a new Vogue in the mail, I don’t envy whoever is on the cover or compare myself to them. Instead, I read their interviews and understand why they are there, and by that, I mean how and what they have accomplished in their careers. Not only do I learn something from them, but they motivate me to work hard toward my dreams!

As for me, I’ve had my VOGUE moment and not just anywhere, but in Paris. I may not have been the cover star per se, but It definitely felt like it! BUT, I am still a believer and someday I’ll make this dream of mine happen, MARK MY WORDS!

P.S.

I just got the new 125th Anniversary Vogue Issue in the mail which not only weighs a ton but displays the drop-dead gorgeous Jennifer Lawrence on the cover. She’s one of my favorites, so you know in what reading I’ll be indulging in today. And one more iconic issue to add to my collection!

Don’t forget to pick one up for yourself!
